Christmas 2020 & 500L Group Gift Card

This post is a little late! Getting ready for Christmas in RL and SL was a complete rush in the end, and although I managed to sort things out in both worlds, by Christmas Day I was pretty much ready to drop, hahahaha. 

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and I wanted Laminak to have some really special things on offer. There should have been more, but I guess I'll save these ideas for next year, in the end, I created some Christmas beds, candles, signs, hot cocoa pots, and banquet sets. 

They're all at different events, landmarks in my inworld profile pics, but here are the pics ;-)

At We Love Roleplay Event - I have a new Banquet Set. 

In a warm Mid Oak wood texture, it comes with a table and chairs and provides 13 different food options, Starters, Mains and Deserts as well as Cutlery. 

There are 8 different chair fabrics to choose from - each sold separately.

There's also a Gothic Black Banquet Set, which comes with a table and chairs and food as detailed above - 8 different chair fabrics to choose from (each sold separately) - Saturnalia Event.

Also at the Saturnalia event and the Drunken Elf Event are a range of Christmas Candles. 4 Metals to choose from, they're sold in a fat pack with 3 different candle colours - Red, Green, and Cream.

There's a special Yule Market at Saturnalia Event, all items 100L or less, the candles above and these Christmas Logs are Laminaks offering for this part of the event. Available in 3 candle colours, Red, Green, and Cream for 100L of buy the Fatpack with all 3 candle colours and the bonus mixed candles version for 200L.

Saturnalia is the ancient pagan festival that morphed into Christmas, the event organizers explain this far better than I ever could so here's a link to their website:

They used to use a lot of Antlers in their decorations, incidentally, this is also when Yule Logs were first used, although we now prefer the chocolate variety ;-), so I've created a range of Antler Wall Sconces, again in 4 metals and 3 candle options.

We're also in Second Life Shop and Hop, and although these beds will be placed in storage and the new versions of the Oak Opera Beds released in the new year, I've created Christmas Bedding versions. The Beds come with 8 bedding options in texture changer and are 50% off whilst the event runs.

Another wood version of the Opera Beds is a Vintage White Oak. Again, currently, just in Christmas textures this too has the 8 bedding options and is available with 50% off at Santa's Workshop event.

Also at the main store and the with 50% off at the SL Shop and Hop event is a range of Christmas signs. only 1Li each they come in fatpacks either in a texture changer or as a box set of individual items. 

Almost finished ;-) I have created a vintage Hot Cocoa Pot and Cup Set, in 3 metals.

The Gold is exclusive to the Drunken Elf event, the Silver and Raven versions are a new release for the store. These and the Gothic Black Banquet sets will be the only things remaining in the store after Christmas, the rest will go into storage until next year ;-)

And Finally - as a special 'Thank You' for helping me make this first year back with Laminak so special, I've placed a gift box on the 'Knight's Armour' display stand in the store. It contains a 500L Group Gift Card that you can use on any item in a Casper Vendor at the main store or any event that we're in! If you're not already in the group you'll need to join - there is a 250L fee for joining the group, but group members receive 10% off all year round at the main store, so there are some big savings to be made. 

I think that's it! at least for this year ;-) 

I hope 2021 proves to be a better year than 2020 has!

Enchantment - Phantom Of The Opera

 

Greetings All ;-)

I hope you're all ok.

I'm so so thrilled to say I'm in the Enchantment event this round. 

The theme is the Phantom of the Opera and I thought I'd create a bed suitable for the Phantom's own bedroom.

This Gothic styled bed comes in 3 bedding packs - Onyx, Claret, and Violet.

Each bedding pack comes with 2 duvet options and coordinating extras, sheets, pillows blanket, and throw cushion. 

The Beds are available in PG or Adult, they're 15Li at the size provided and they're original mesh with materials enabled.

I'll be making a mid oak and a white version of the bed, along with more bedding options for this gothic version.

There's a Demo Bed at the Main store, in the event section, for you to try out before buying.

Lots going on before Christmas, we're at Redeux for their 'Black Friday Event' at the end of this month, we're also in the December round of We Love Roleplay and another event called Saturnalia.

Wanderlust Weekend 25-25th October 2020

Just a quicky!

We're in the 'Wanderlust Weekend' event this weekend, with a new release.

Priced at only 50L for the event, the 'Town Lamps' come in 3 metals, with 3 glass options, all original mesh and materials enabled.

Made to complement the 'Enchanted Lanterns' range of lighting, available at the main store, they're only 2Li each, Original Mesh with Materials Enabled.

Tomb Of Ancients - Shopping and Experience Event

The final Halloween type event that Laminak is in, starts tomorrow!

20th October - 3rd November

I've created a day bed, sold in PG or Adult versions, texture changer in the blanket for the blanket, and throw cushions (apart from the horror version) and there are custom, drunk/drinking animations witha  rez/wear bottle. 

They're sold in packs of two:

Horror and a clean ticking version

Red Leather and Red Damask

Black Leather and Black Damask.

Samhain Event And New Store

 

Happy Samhain! & Greetings to you all.

Although it's a few weeks off before Samhain, it's never too early to start preparing for it, in my opinion anyway, hahaha. 

Halloween is one of, if not THE most, favourite holiday for me, so I've been truly blessed to have been invited and accepted to so many events for it. 

'Samhain' is the pagan origin of Halloween and the creators of the event wanted us all to go back to it, they explain the concept far better than I ever could so here is a link to their website:

I wanted to create edibles, to offer to the spirits, and for all those witches, wizards, ghouls, ghosts, vampires, and everyone else you can think of out there to enjoy during the holiday festivities. There are three items that can be bought individually or as a fat pack.

The first is a Pumpkin Pie vendor, with male or female animations, the pie offers you a piece of pie and a spoon to wear, again for male or female.

The second is a pan of 'Brew', complete with floating fruit and a goblet. The pan offers a male or female goblet with animations.

And the third is a plate of 'Soul' cakes. These are to offer to spirits as they pass your home, but there's no harm if you have a few while you party ;-) This also offers a cake to eat with male and female animations.

There is a display of all three in the event area of the store if you can't get to the event.

All three are original mesh with materials enabled, and 1-3Li each.

The actual event space is incredible! so even if you don't want to shop it's worth going to marvel at it! it sent shivers down my spine when I first saw it!

Ok, speaking about the event area of the store, we've moved, again! hopefully for the last time in a while!

The old store was on mainland, and although, when I first set it up it was empty and relatively lag-free around me, people moved in, and sadly, I ended up with the same problem I had in the original store. Too much going on on the ground and it was lag central!

A friend asked a little while ago if I'd be interested in getting a homestead with her for our stores but at the time the new land was ok, so I said no as I'm lazy! and didn't want to move again, but when the buildings started to pile up around me, and the lag increased, I asked her if she was still interested, and she was, so we did it!!

The homestead we're on is called Shadowfell, and although it might look very similar to the old store and almost as if it's 'empty' again as I've stretched things out a bit, it's lag-free, looks beautiful and I have lots of room to grow. :-)

I think that's it for now. I'm building for one more 'Halloween' type event at the moment and I've got 2 other events in November to start making for so I'll be busy but I'll add all the details on here when they happen ;-).

Rock Your Rack

 

Told you I'd been busy!

Laminak is also included in the 'Rock Your Rack' 'Gardens of Hope' event this month.

There's a whole new sofa set that I've made for it, consisting of a 2 seat sofa and armchair, all original mesh with materials enabled. 

For the Limited Edition item (which will be retired after the event) I've created a delicate pink version of this new sofa set and matching floor lamps. All proceeds of these items go directly to the charity.

The Sofa Sets come in PG or Adult and have a texture changer in the throw cushions so you can customize the look to suit your room or taste. They're mod/copy, No transfer. 

I've also created 2 hunt items and accessories:

The hunt items cost 10L each and again all proceeds go to the charity.

For the exclusive item which will be available at Laminak's Main Store after the event, I've created an 'Autumn Tweed' set, perfect for country cottages, mansions as well as log cabins, for that cozy winter feel.

There will be more texture options to come but for now, I hope you like these and find time to visit the event.

Halloween!

 

Spooky Greetings covered in spiders and cobwebs to you all!!

Hi everyone, I hope you're all ok!

It's almost HALLOWEEN!!!!

One of my favorite festivals/holidays.

I'm in 4 themed events, more information to follow in a future blog post but the first two events, open or opening soon are 'Pumpkin Town' and 'Trick or Treat Lane'.

For Pumpkin Town I've created 'Martha's Table'. Sold as a fatpack or individual pieces (apart from the cauldron and witches chair which are only in the fatpack)

It comprises of a table covered with a lace cloth, although you can remove this, a chair that has been inspired by a RL 16th-century chair, a bubbling cauldron, a spellbook, and a pestle and mortar with little ingredient dishes. 

The witch's chair has custom spell casting animations - reading the spellbook, adding ingredients, smelling the brew, and stirring the pot, and it also features an original mesh wand that rezzes as an attachment. There's also a helper's chair that has sits in so you can have friends watch you create your potions.

For 'Trick or treat Lane' I've created a 'Martha's Fire Pit and Cauldron Set'.

This is a fatpack only and consists of a firepit with 1 stool, a fire pit with 3 stools, and a single stool to add around for friends.

It also includes custom animations in male and female - Stirring, Stoking the Fire, and Smelling the brew. 

The fire pit rezzes an original mesh staff, so using the avisitter experience on your land is recommended.

For both events there's a hunt gift, completely free, the Pumpkin Town freebie is at the main landing point, as the Trick or Treat Lane event isn't set up or open yet I'm not sure where the gift will be but there's a good chance it'll be at the Laminak booth. 

Ok, there's more to come in the next blog as there are 2 more Halloween events I'm involved in but haven't completed the builds for yet! aarrgghhh .. hahaha. Such a fun time ;-)

Renaissance Festival - Medieval Thrones & Knighting Ceremony

As mentioned in my previous blog September was a busy one for me and it ended with the setup for the Renaissance Festival.

There are 6 sims, filled with stores and things to do, jousting tournaments, parades, and music, it's really worth exploring even if you don't usually participate in roleplay of any kind. 

Anyway, I made Medieval Thrones and Accessories for it, as well as a Knighting Ceremony!

The thrones come in a mid/dark oak texture and there are 8 fabrics to choose from:

There are two Thrones in the pack, One Male and One Female. The Male Thrones have Male sits Couple Cuddles and the Adult versions have Male/Female Adult animations. The Female Thrones have Female Sits, Female/Female Couple cuddles and Female/Female Adult animations in the adult version. They also include a 'Toasting Ceremony' with custom animations and original mesh goblet.

To complement the thrones I've created a Carved Oak Throne Stand, Canopy and Matching Banners.

On to the Knighting Ceremony:

The ceremony comes with a circular oak platform, a knighting cushion in fabric textures to match the thrones, and a display sword.

There are custom animations for the actual knighting and a celebratory hug for the finish although you don't have to do this as part of the RP. 

The ceremony rezzes a sword attachment and it's recommended that you enable the 'avsitter experience' on your land to make this run smoothly.

As with the Gothic Thrones, I've made a whole range of candelabras and candle stand lighting to compliment the set.

You can see the whole display at Laminak Main Store and try the ceremony before you buy, or better still, as these are exclusive to the Renaissance Festival, try them there and experience the atmosphere of the faire ;-).
